April at Softwerke Magdeburg brought a few tripping stones still to be polished, a few newly sparkling gemstones and a few well-placed foundation stones …

 

Phillipp reports for the working group for technology:

After renewed problems with the invitations to our password manager, the WG Technology has installed a fork with an extension to our user administration and is currently testing it a bit. If everything works like this, we could use it to remove a component from the stack that is currently breaking frequently! :)

For the workhing groups for education and public relations, Till summarises:

Last week, the WG Public Relations announced the implementation of our new corporate identity, consisting of new elements such as the logo, colour palette and fonts. This means that the new logo is now visible to the public for the first time! Stickers with our logo are already available—so feel free to take some with you at the next Softwerke event 🙂. The CI will ultimately be implemented with the publication of this newsletter.

We can celebrate the establishment of a new event format for the WG Education: our member Achim from Stendal has been organising a smartphone get-together there for some time now, where he discusses free and open alternatives to popular, commercial smartphone apps and operating systems with interested people. In the future, this format will be run under the Softwerke Magdeburg e. V. label, but the concept of the format will remain unchanged. The smartphone regulars' table takes place every week on Tuesday from 2 pm in the Kleine Markthalle in Stendal.

The WG Finances has finalised the annual report for 2023 and has now submitted it to the cash audit. Next up is the feedback from the cash auditors and the submission of our tax return 😊.

 

The WGs Law, Language und Moderation have nothing worth mentioning this month.
