Till reports on behalf of the executive board:
Together with the task force for the association weekend, the board has published the invitation to our association weekend and general meeting. The association weekend will take place on July 20th and 21st in the Werk- und Kulturscheune in Loitsche. On the one hand, we will use the weekend to tackle issues for which we cannot find the neccessary time during the rest of the year. On the other hand, we also want to and will have a great time as community of active members of the association. Thus, the weekend is also well suited for people who want to gain a sound insight into the work of the association. Registration is therefore also open to non-members and is possible until July 1st. Further information can be found in the invitation.
Phillipp writes for the working group for technology:
The WG Technology has been dealing with several current problems in our services. Since we have recently had to solve more and more problems with our password manager setup (we use Vaultwarden here) and our account management (we use Authentik here), which resulted from the synchronisation of users via Authentik's LDAP interface, we have been looking for other solutions. As had already been announced to all users via e-mail, we wanted to switch to single sign-on in Vaultwarden. This should slightly change the way you log in to the password manager, but we hoped that this would result in far fewer problems and therefore a better user experience for all users. In our initial test runs, we unfortunately still had considerable limitations in terms of usability and therefore decided not to realise this changeover yet. We will continue to take a closer look at the whole thing in order to improve usability in the long term.
For the working groups for education and public relations, Till and Ina summarise:
The WGs Education and Public Relations have jointly prepared the June regulars' table. This will take place as part of the 11th Eco-Social University Days. In line with this year's ESUD topic of sustainability and finances, we will meet as usual on June 7th at Netz39 and—under the title "Big Data—the goldmine of the 21st century?"—talk about strategies of the Big Five, our behaviour in this context and the sustainable use of data.
Last time the WG Education announced that the Stendal Smartphone Regulars' Table has recently been incorporated into the association's banner. The WG Public Relations has now created a stylish poster to advertise the format in the Altmark district. At the first mobile phone get-together under our banner, we noticed a lot of encouragement and new ideas for the group from the regulars, which makes us very happy with this decision.
The WG Public Relations has also started to analyse each of our services for potential improvements to the user experience. What we cannot enhance ourselves, we will tackle in co-operation with the Technology WG. So far, we have polished up our wiki and started to improve the cloud. All other services will follow step by step.
The WGs Education, Finances, Law, Language, Moderation, Public Relations and Technology have nothing worth mentioning this month.
